Many thanks!

While owning it Terri had painted all the interior cabinets and Mark took at the old carpet and placed down new laminate flooring.

Mark also made a custom frame at the rear of the inside of the coach to support a custom built queen size (close to that size) mattress.

He also added a air bag suspension to each side of the rear suspension to better help on ride support. Much has been done like a new wall mounted space heater, a new stereo system with rear speakers, new microwave added above the vent for the gas oven and 4 burner stove

also a new awning for outside, new tires, a new 4 barrel carborator with electric choke, new coach battery, new vent covers, new roof top storage box, and so much more. The RV has a full size refrigerator / freezer, roof top AC system, a furnace heater with thermostat, full bathroom with shower, dining area that is a booth which has a large window to look out there, over head sleeping for two above the cabin, plenty of storage, water tanks, sewage holding tanks, while the driver has cruise control, a CB radio, a very nice stereo CD with added door speakers, cabin AC and heat, and defrost, and cup holders. What more do you need? What I do need it also has, a tow hitch that Mark had welded to the frame! Now taking the boat out with us will be no problem and yes I can back up a 22' long RV to launch, LOL. The big window in the back of coach helps as does the side mirrors.

If we ever go dry camping (no hook ups for power) we have a Onan 4.0 Generator for back up!

It handled great on the ride back home to Meridian, Idaho. Along the way home I saw an American Bald Eagle perched upon a telephone pole along highway 20.

We are looking forward to taking it out for weekend get aways to near by state parks, and eventually to Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons!

We have adopted a Greyhound!

We have adopted Blaze, or "Able To Blaze", a recently retired Greyhound that raced in the "A" Group. Pepper, our beloved Dalmation, who lived to be 16 years and 8 months was put down today. She lived a very long time for her breed, the oldest Dalmation on record lived to be 17 years old. Pepper has always been a big part of our lives, she was a premarital pet. We picked out Pepper from her breeder in the summer of 1992 just a few months before Karen and I were married. She became so attached to us as we were to her up until today when we said our good byes. I feel very empty as I write this about her and us, it brings me such sorrow to know that I will not see her again. However, she brought much happiness and joy to our lives that I feel blessed to have been a part of her life too. From an early age Pepper was treated to her long walks mostly with Karen, sometimes as much as 4-5 miles a day. I think that added years to her life. She enjoyed being outdoors mostly but as long as she was close to us she was very happy. Pepper will be missed lots.

My new 1961 Cadillac

It is a 1961 Cadillac 6 window, 390, with air, power assist brakes, PS, AM radio, all original even the paint. 81,100 original miles. Rust free except in one spot on left front lower fender. It needs some transmission work, a little body work in the left front fender rust area, and the right rear quarter panel, and a new water pump but that's it. Garaged its whole life and the interior is MINT. The headliner, door panels, dash pad, the whole inside, even the carpet is original. It all looks like new except for the carpet which only shoes minimal wear. The upholstery is unbelievable and really looks like day one except for one small area. It's like the original owners had clean clothes every time they drove it The back seat is really like day 1. There is no way that if you saw it you would think that it was from 1961. Three owner and it sat since 1983 because of the transmission from the first owner. It runs and drives fine, just can't get out of first gear. Thanks Vlad with the sale and help getting it home!

Update on Cycling

It has been a while since I have updated my blog. Here is what happened three months ago.

I did very well on the first race of the season, it was a 10 mile time trial. I pulled out a first place finish and won by three .03 seconds! That gave me first place overall going into the next stage of the series.

The second race of the series was the March 30th Slammer Road Race. The race organizer combined some fields since the field sizes were smaller. There were about 60 or so at the start. I had 2 teammates but they were in the B group. I was by myself in the A group for our team. On the second lap about 1/2 way through the race I was at the front and another rider came to the front and went right in front of my front wheel taking me down. We were doing 29 mph and I crashed out the worst I have ever had. I ended up being rushed off to St. Lukes where they transferred me to St. Al's because they thought that I was going to need an operation to remove my spleen. I was in ICU where I discovered that I had broken my collar bone, my scapula (shoulder), three ribs, and deflated my lung. All on the side I hit the ground with, my left side. I was in the hospital for 6 days and two weeks later I had surgery to place a titanium plate to connect my collar bone back together. My spleen was to be OK.

It has been three long months off of the bike and race season is over for me this year. I really would have liked to see just how well I would have competed against these guys in the 1,2,3's (A group) being from California. I guess I will have to wait till next year to see how I do here in Idaho.
